Bullet and blast-resistant glazing systems are advanced multi-layer laminated glass assemblies engineered to protect buildings and occupants against ballistic threats, explosions, and forced attacks, while maintaining transparency and architectural aesthetics.

Technology & Construction

Security glazing systems are manufactured using multiple layers of glass and high-performance interlayers, designed to absorb and dissipate energy from ballistic and blast impacts.

Bullet Resistance Classification (EN 1063)

  • BR2 – BR4: Protection against handguns
  • BR5 – BR7 NS: Protection against rifles and armor-piercing ammunition
  • STANAG Levels: Military-grade ballistic protection
  • High-performance systems achieve up to BR7 NS, the highest civilian classification, capable of resisting armor-piercing rounds.


Blast Resistance Performance

  • Blast-resistant glazing is engineered to:
  • Withstand shock waves and pressure loads from explosions
  • Prevent hazardous glass fragmentation (anti-spall performance)
  • Maintain façade integrity and reduce risk of injury
  • Absorb and dissipate dynamic impact energy
  • These systems are commonly designed based on project-specific blast load calculations and international standards.

Bullet-resistant glass offers versatile functionality suitable for various applications. From government buildings and embassies to private residences with heightened security needs, as well as event venues and airports, many structures require transparent surfaces while prioritizing protection against firearm attacks.

To meet these demands, manufacturer provides safety and insulating glass panels in bullet resistance classes ranging from BR2 NS to BR7 NS (according to EN 1063), offering the highest levels of protection. Both are available in flat and curved formats, with dimensions of up to 3.6m x 20m.


IGU


The insulating glass convinces with its clever pane structure. Without the use of the conventional polycarbonate system, the fire load is also reduced compared to the conventional solution and allowing for larger maximum sizes. Another advantage: it can be combined with conventional solar control and low-e coatings, thus meeting the requirements of modern energy standards. It is certified for both float glass and TVG, enabling panes in a maximum format of 3.6m x 20m.
